A: In this story based adventure, teams of players must work together to complete a team based mission before time runs out, and they’re trapped in purgatory forever. Encountering the tormented souls of the deceased, players freely roam through the intricate narrative where they must decide who to trust, where to go, and how to best rescue famed parapsychologist Doctor Nathaniel Lassiter who is our only hope of returning safely back to the land of the living. It is said that no mortal can look into the Mind of Madness without being driven insane; with 60 minutes on the clock, it is your turn to journey into the darkness and see if you can emerge victorious or if you’ll be lost to the void forever.

A: No! Variant 31 is a live action experience with no VR, no screens, and no controllers. It is all real life! You're navigating through 35 floors of movie quality sets brought to life by actors, theatrical lighting, costumes and Hollywood style special effects.

A: No, Variant 31 is an immersive theatre experience in the style of PunchDrunk where you get to follow characters through a free roaming narrative completeing story objectives and finding your way back to the world of the living!
Q: Where are you located?
A: Variant 31 is located at 39 New Oxford Street, London, WC1A 1BN, easily accessible with the Underground from Holborn, Tottenham Court Road, and a short walk away from Leicester Square and Covent Garden stations.

Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: Yes, we offer discounts for Lottery winners, Corporate, Groups (20 or more), and various promotions through social media. Also, our online tickets are always less expensive than the at the door price.
Q: What is a lottery winner?
A: Beginning 13th March 2020. Each performance day, we offer 13 tickets, for £13 available for purchase from the box office for winners of the daily lottery.

A: Please click our “Book Now” link on the website. We recommend advance tickets, as we will sell out.
Q: How do I pick up tickets?
A: Your ticket will be emailed to you if you purchase online. Each member of your party must have their own ticket. You may print or scan your mobile device upon entry. Box office will provide tickets if purchased in person. WE CANNOT REPRINT YOUR TICKETS.
Q: I’d like to work at Variant 31, where do I apply?

Q: How early do I need to arrive?
A: You must arrive on time. If you arrive later than the beginning of your entry time, you will not be admitted. There are absolutely no refunds.
Q: What if I arrive late?
A: In the unlikely event that the next time slot is not sold out, we will do everything we can to accommodate your party by moving you to the next available, same day entry.. However, please keep in mind, we reserve the right to split your group up to ensure each experiment is full.
Q: I lost my ticket, can I get a replacement?
A: Tickets issued from the Box Office cannot be reprinted or replaced. If purchased online, please keep your email confirmation available.
Q: Do you accept credit Cards?
A: Yes, we accept credit and debit cards online, or in person at the box office. Proudly accepting: Visa, Discover, and MasterCard and American Express.
Q: Are advanced tickets required?
A: No, however, we anticipate selling out each night. We highly recommend purchasing online in advance.
Q: Something came up, and I can't make my reservation. May I exchange my ticket?
A: Due to the limited amount of tickets available for each performance- we cannot offer refunds, exchanges, or readmission. However, if you miss your scheduled time slot, your ticket will be valid for the entire date of performance, and we will work to try and accommodate your party. However, please refer to the late arrival policy above.
Q: Do I have to sign a waiver?
A: Absolutely. As with all adrenaline inducing experiences, you must sign a waiver to attend this event. While every effort has been made to ensure the experience is as safe as possible, our lawyers say you have to sign the waiver anyway.
Q: How old do you have to be to attend?
A: You must be at least 15+.
Q: Do you use strobe lights?
A: Yes. There are moments of intense strobe lights.
Q: Do you use fog machines?
A: Yes. There are fog and haze machines in use.
Q: Will I be touched?
A: Our normal experience has brief moments of contact, but only elbow to finger tips, and knees to toes.
Q: What if I don't want to be touched?
A: You may purchase a No Touch ‘Chicken’ ticket that guarantees you will not be touched by the creatures during the performance. This upgrade is only available at the box office when you check in, and is subject to availability.
Q: Is it dark?
A: Yes. There are extended sequences of pitch black darkness.
Q: What attire do I wear?
A: Closed toe shoes. No heels, sandals, flipflops, stilettos, or "dangerous" footwear will be allowed inside. You also need to wear form fitting clothing. Nothing flowing, dresses, or heavy coats/ sweaters will be allowed inside. Wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Anything is liable to happen in the dark.
Q: Can I attend If I am pregnant?
A: Yes, however- do so at your own risk. We do not recommend anyone beyond their first trimester attempt the experience. There are many things that may scare, unnerve, and frighten you waiting inside. We do not want to potentially harm you or your child. Enter at your own risk.
Q: Can I attend if I suffer from PTSD, heart problems, epilepsy , claustrophobia, high blood pressure, motion sickness, emotional trauma, or other mental and/or physical disability?
A: We do not recommend this attraction for anyone suffering from any mental, or physical condition or disability. If you choose to enter the attraction and you suffer from an ailment, you do so at your own risk.
Q: If I am too scared, can I leave?
A: Yes. You may follow specific protocol, and will be immediately removed from the experience. However, please note, you will not be allowed to reenter the experience for any reason.
Q: What happens in the event of an emergency?
A: In the unlikely event of an emergency, the performance will promptly stop. Our staff have been extensively trained on evacuation routes, and safety protocol. All lights will turn on, and we will ensure a quick and safe evacuation from the building.
Q: What can I bring inside with me?
A: You may bring only yourselves. No heavy clothing, jackets, sweaters, bags, cameras, firearms, weapons, hats, sunglasses, or other items may enter with you. All Cell Phones and Electronic devices must be turned off before you enter the experience.
Q: Is there a cloak room?
A: Yes, all items must be secured in cloak room before you begin the experience.
Q: I didn't like the experience, can I get a refund?
A: Absolutely no refunds, readmission, or re-entries for any reason.
Q: I lost something inside, may I go back for it?
A: No. We will not allow you inside the attraction for any reason. At the end of the evening, we will collect any and all items that have been found, and hold them for collection at the box office, available from the next day.
